Le ressort(13) est maintenu en place dans les cavités pratiquées dans le boîtier(1) et dans le levier(17)à l'opposé du bouton(16).Le boîtier(1) comporte un compartiment pour la pile(9) et son support(8),fermé par un capot (10) maintenu par des ergots, un compartiment pour le palpeur électromécanique(ll)et l'interrupteur général électri que(14) actionné par un bouton extérieur(15). Un logement est également prévu dans le boîtier pour fixer: le dispositif d'éclairage du ruban comprenant une diode "haute lu minosité(26) avec un interrupteur(6) et son bouton de commande(5),le voyant témoin(7) du palpeur (11) ,la tige du palpeur(12).Les grands côtés du boîtier(I-2) sont contruits en débordement de l'ensemble afin de créer un logement pour les accessoires repliables suivants:La loupe de lecture(27) qui pivote sur un axe (32) fixé sur le boîtier(1-2) ,le sup port(21) du repère de lecture(25)qui pivote sur un axe(20) également fixé sur le boîtier,et le palpeur de ruban(22)qui pivote sur un axe(39)fixé sur le ruban de lecture(41).Le palpeur de ruban(22) est maintenu en position repliée par deux ergots solidaires de la partie débordante du boîtier (Fig.2-4);il est composé de deux demi-boîtiers(réunis par quatre vis(29) ,construits en matériau composite semblable au boîtier principal.Il reçoit le dispositif de contact composé d'une tige métallique(23) coulissant dans la rainure crée dans les demi-boîtiers, d'un plot de contact(37) que la tige vient toucher lors de la mesure ce qûi provoque l'allumage du voyant témoin(24)alimenté par les piles (33).

prévues à cet effet dans le boîtier sont dépliés dans l'or- dre suivant::le palpeur de ruban(22) en premier,ensuite le support(21) du repère de lecture(25) et la loupe (27);le bouton(15) de l'interrupteur général(14) est positionné sur "Marche" ,le frein de ruban est désactivé en appuyant sur le bouton(16)et la mesure est effectuée en faisant toucher la tige du palpeur de boîtier(12) avec la boule du joueur et le palpeur du ruban(22) avec le "bouchon" jusqu'au moment où les voyants de controle(7-24) s'allument;le frein de ruban est activé en relâchant le bouton(16) et la lecture est effectuée au moyen de la loupe(27) les voyants de contrôle étant allUméS ; si la luminosité ambiante est insuffisante, la diode de lecture(26) est activée en appuyant sur le bouton(5).Cette mesure sera effectuée les mains posées sur le sol pour éviter les mouvements brusques qui pourraient provoquer le déplacement des boules et donc l'annulation du résultat. Aprés usage,tous les accessoires extérieurs sont repliés,l'interrupteur est fermé et le double-mètre peut être transporté dans la poche.
