NOUVEAU CONCEPT D'UNE SONDE MULTICANALAIRE
VIDEO-LASER A VISE ES DIAGNOSTICS OU DE
TRAITEMENTS ENDOSCOPIQUES.NEW CONCEPT OF A MULTICHANNEL PROBE
VIDEO LASER AIMED AT DIAGNOSTICS OR
ENDOSCOPIC TREATMENTS.
DESCRIPTIF
The diagnosis and endoscopic treatment of lithiasis, tumors and congenital or other ailments under videoscopic control by laser is actually feasible today.
The present invention is a method and a new concept which allows endoscopic and diagnostic treatments. The invention consists of a multichannel probe for the concomitant use or not of an ordered optical fiber transmitting video images of very small diameter for example of 600 microns or even less, of a laser fiber of very small diameter for example of 320 microns or even less, a guide wire of very small diameter, for example 0.028 or even less and an irrigation channel.
The probe is made of biocompatible materials (example = PVC, silicone ...) made radiopaque and its outside diameter adapted for example less than or equal to 7 French Charrière. The distal end of the probe is made up of 4 separate and individual input systems:
- an input for the laser fiber (1, Fig. 1/2)
- an input for the ordered optical fiber transmitting video images
(2, Fig. 1/2)
- an entry for the guide wire (3, Fig. 1/2)
- an inlet for irrigation (4, Fig. 1/2) which can be fitted with a stopcock.
The length of the probe is variable depending on the intended therapeutic or diagnostic destination.
The body of the probe (6, Fig. 1/2) is of rounded or other shape so as to be best suited to the desired use.
The internal lumen of the probe is divided by 4 partition walls (8, 9, 10, 11
Fig. 2/2) arranged linearly and parallel to the major axis of the probe so as to produce 4 separate channels (1, 2, 3, 4 Fig. 2/2). Each channel follows one of the input systems previously described. The connection between the inlet system and its specific channel is made at the base of the probe body (5 Fig. 1/2).
The distal end of the p probe, Fig. 1/2) can have a bisaut.ne section or any homothetic forms or these forms deduced from these homotheties by translation, rotation or associated translation rotation of one or more elements of figure 2/2.
The end of the conductive channel of the laser fiber is located at the distal end of the probe 7, (Fig. 1/2) in position 1 (Fig. 2/2) leading to the end of this probe.
The end of the irrigator channel is located at the distal end of the probe 7 (Fig. 1/2) in position 4 (Fig. 2/2) leading to the end of this probe.
The end of the conductive channel of the optical fiber is located at the distal end of the probe 7 (Fig. 1/2) in position 2 (Fig. 2/2) leading to the end of this probe.
The end of the guide channel of the guide wire is located at the distal end of the probe 7 (Fig. 1/2) in position 3 (Fig. 2/2) leading to the end of this probe.
The multichannel probe can be used with or without the help of any endoscopic means presently existing or to be invented.
APPLICATIONS
APPLICATIONS
The multichannel probe can be used with or without the help of an existing endoscopic system or to be created under local, loco-regional or general anesthesia. The laser fiber can be replaced by any other process making it possible to coagulate or to section insofar as its outside diameter is compatible with the inside diameter of one or other of the channels. The multi-canal probe allows the treatment and diagnosis of lithiasis, tumors and congenital or other ailments.
