The belt is completely closed on itself by virtue, in particular, of the profiles of its edges, characterised in that it uses a single cable 2 which fulfils both the function of supporting and the function of closing the belt 3; the monocable 2 is metallic; the profile of the edges 4, 5 of the belt 3 forms a housing 6 which permits twisting of the cable 2 without transmission of the twisting of the belt 3.
