Ce verre a essentiellement la composition suivante, en % en poids : SiO2 40-60% B2O3 0-6% Al2O3 0-2% Total Li2O + Na2O + K2O 24-30% Total MgO + CaO + SrO + BaO + ZnO 0-10% TiO2 1-3% CeO2 1-3% Nd2O3 10-25% Er2O3 1-5% Sm2O3 0-3% Total Er2O3 + Sm2O3 1-8% CuO 0,1-0,5% MnO2 0,1-0,8% L'invention trouve son application principale dans les verres pour écran de tube cathodique.
