Abstract

The invention relates to a lamp to be placed on a piece of furniture, equipped with power variation controlled by touching the base with a finger. It consists of a metal base 1, a socket 3, a bulb 5, an electronic circuit 2 providing the functions of power variation and switching, a power supply lead and, possibly, decorative accessories (cover etc). The electronic circuit 2 comprises a control input 6 sensitive to the light touch of a finger. The latter is connected to the metal base 1 which, because of this, also becomes sensitive to being touched. Turning on or off the lamp, as well as varying the intensity are then controlled by a light touch on the base. This lamp is in particular intended for applications which require attenuated and adjustable lighting: bedside lamp, pilot light, lamp for reading, for the lounge, decorative lamp, etc.
