Abstract

The invention relates to a device making it possible to vibrate roadway materials within their mass during the spreading so as to facilitate their compaction. The device, installed on conventional spreading machines or special machines, consists either of vibrating rods 1 or of a vibrating plate 2 which are placed at the bottom or within the thickness of the expanded material to be spread. The devices 1 or 2 may be connected, in certain cases, to a plate 3 so as to facilitate the flowing of the materials. The devices 1, 2 or 3 may be replaced in certain cases by the device 4. The vibrations of 1, 2 and possibly 3, or 4 enable the aggregates to be arranged more easily and facilitate the subsequent compaction of the spread layer by conventional means. The layers thus created have a low gradient of density as a function of thickness and therefore a better mechanical performance and an improved surface life.
