Abstract

The invention relates to a device for rapidly fixing a camera onto a tripod platform. This device comprises a thin metal plate 10 on which the camera 22 can be fixed and which can itself be fixed onto the platform 24 of the tripod by tightening its edges between a fixed stop 26 and movable stop 28 which can be locked in a spaced position where it liberates the thin plate and in a locked position where it wedges the thin plate, the latter being equipped on the said edges with projecting studs 46 capable of coming into contact with these stops in order to oppose any accidental sliding of the thin plate on the platform.
