Abstract

The present invention relates to wheelchairs comprising a seat supported by two driving wheels fitted with a handrail and two guiding wheels, a backrest and a footrest, characterised in that they are constituted by two lateral sides 1 made of a honeycombed composite material; two main wheels 2 of which at least one is fitted with a handrail, and a resin/reinforcing fibre composite material, each of the said wheels being made by assembling two half-wheels according to a plane perpendicular to the axle of the wheel, and by two crossbars, connected in their middle by an axle around which they can pivot, each bar being connected at one of its ends to a pivot integrally connected to one side and the other of its ends to a small rule-like fitting with a slot in which the said end can slide.
