Abstract

The nickel-cadmium electric accumulator comprises a positive electrode (1) and a rolled negative electrode, with a suitable separator interposed, housed in a cylindrical casing. The two current connections are situated at the two ends of the casing, soldered to the edges of the electrodes and electrically connected to two output terminals. One of the current connections (2) is connected to the internal face of the cover of the casing by a metal tongue (3) parallel to the axis of the cylindrical housing. The tongue is bent along its length to a 'V' profile with an included angle of 120 degrees, making it more rigid to permit machine handling of the cell by gripping the tongue during assembly.
