Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a push-piece for a timepiece comprising a fixed part secured to the middle part of the part and a mobile sliding in the fixed part, said mobile comprising at its first end a rod intended to modify a functional state and to its second end a head to which can be applied a thrust force exerted directly by the finger of an operator.
Many pushers are known which include the above generic characters. Generally these pushers protrude from the timepiece and therefore do not allow the implementation of a simple and stripped aesthetic as demanded by modern fashion. Constructions have been proposed, however, which make it necessary to retract the control members in the middle or the case of the timepiece.
In patent CH 618 828 for example, there is provided a button having a flat shape and covering at least part of the upper face of the case in order to give an aesthetic shape to said case and to ensure the functioning of a contact electric to display the time indicated digitally. This construction has the disadvantage of requiring a pusher system which must be specially manufactured to be adapted to the timepiece under consideration.
Contrary to this, the present invention provides a construction which can be easily adapted to any watch case or caseband and this by using a conventional push button as is known to those skilled in the art. This achieves the desired aesthetic appearance or the control members appear as merged in the middle of the timepiece and this by means which appear in the claims.
The invention will now be understood in the light of the following description and of the drawings, given by way of example, in which
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the timepiece fitted with a push button according to the invention.
Figure 2a is a sectional view of the pusher along the line A-A of Figure 1.
B-B de la figure 1.Figure 2b is a sectional view of the pusher along the line
BB of figure 1.
Figure 1 shows a timepiece in the form of a wristwatch with digital display. On either side of the middle part 6 are mounted four pushers object of the present invention, whose caps appear the caps 12. The middle part also carries a fifth pushbutton 20 which is activated by a ball point pen, for example, and used for setting the time of the watch. The four buttons are used to perform various functions, for example displaying the date instead of seconds, displaying an alarm time, starting, stopping or resetting a chronograph function, dial lighting, etc. The figure shows that the caps 12 have sufficient dimensions to be actuated directly by the finger of the watch wearer. The cap 12 (AA) as well as the other two caps 12 which appear on the left of the figure are shown relaxed when no force does not act on them. In this position, the visible part of the caps 12 is flush with the middle part to give the impression of merging with it, whether on its side 19 or on its upper edge 17. In the released position, the pushers are in some way concealed or integrated in the watch case. This state unquestionably gives an advantageous and new aspect to a wristwatch. Cap 12 (B - B) is depressed when a force
F is applied to it.
Figures 2a and 2b, which are sections along the corresponding lines A-A and B-B in Figure 1, show how the pusher according to the invention is constructed to achieve the desired result described above. The middle part 6 receives the crystal 1 and the bottom 3 seals tightly by means of the seals 5 and 4. In space 2 is the electronic module or the watch movement. In the middle part 6 is drilled an orifice 21 in which is fixed or stuck the fixed part 7 of the pusher. The movable part of the same pusher comprises at its first end a rod 8 intended to modify a functional state, as here the closing of the contact formed by the blades 10 and 11, and at its second end a head 9. The return of the pusher to the released position is produced in a known manner, either by a spring (not shown) located between the fixed and movable parts, or by the blade 10. This pusher, well known from the state of the art, does not call for any particular comment. As again shown in Figures 2a and 2b, and according to the invention, the head 9 carries a cap 12. To fix the cap on the head, one can make a blind hole in the cap and assemble the parts by hunting. We can also overmold the cap on the head and this assembly will be preferred if we are dealing with plastic.
From the two released and pushed positions presented respectively in FIGS. 2a and 2b, it can be seen that the cover 12, on the one hand, slides in the opening 13 which extends from the outer flank 19 towards the inner flank 26 of the middle part and, on the other hand, slides in a depression 16 practiced in the upper edge 17 of the middle part. In the relaxed position (fig. 2a), it can be seen that the visible face 14 of the cap is flush with the side 19 of the middle part to merge with it. I1 is the same for the visible face 15 which happens to be at the same level as the edge 17 of the middle part and which remains elsewhere when the cap occupies the depressed position shown in Figure 2b.
FIGS. 2a and 2b clearly show the advantage brought by the proposed construction since it uses a pusher of well-known composition 7, 8 and 9 to which is simply added a cap adapted to conform to the aesthetics of the watch case. It is thus possible to carry out even small series without the need to carry out an expensive creation which would necessarily lead to the development of a special pusher.
If we refer again to Figure 1, we see that the caps 12 have two distinct visible faces 14 and 15, the first flush with the side 19 of the middle and the second flush with the upper edge 17 of the same middle. In the drawing, these faces intersect at right angles to conform to the type of case shown where the side and the upper edge of the middle are arranged perpendicularly. It is clear that one could imagine other forms of caps adapted to other forms of cases, for example to a round case.
Figure 1 also shows that the cap is accessible on two sides of the middle. It will be understood that this arrangement is favorable to easier handling of the pusher by the operator's finger. Under these conditions, it is necessary, to ensure the mobility of the pusher, to provide a space 22 between the edge of the cap and the internal edge of the middle part, a space which is an extension of the depression 16. As shown in FIG. 1 , two spaces 22 are connected by a countersink 23 of the same dimension to better conceal the caps 12 in the middle and, if the configuration is suitable, the spaces 22 are extended by two other countersinks 24 which end at the ends of the horns of the bootmaker.
In the same way as the visible face 14 of the cover slides in its corresponding opening 13, one could also slide the visible face 15 in a corresponding opening which would be made in the upper edge 17 of the middle part. However, in the embodiment shown in Figure 1, we preferred to arrange two decorative grooves 18, arranged parallel to the direction of movement of the cap, to separate the face 15 from the edge 17, always with the idea of integrating as best as possible. the pushers in the overall aesthetic, as will be seen by examining FIG. 1. In this drawing, one of the grooves 18 is extended by a countersink 25 which crosses the whole part to join the groove 18 of the pushbutton which is found at the far right of the figure.
The pusher which has just been described is particularly suitable for an electronic timepiece with digital display. It goes without saying that its use can be extended to watches with analog display and even to a mechanical chronograph. In the latter case, the rod 8 of the pusher would act on a purely mechanical interlocking system.
