Abstract

The cover is used on library books and comprises front and rear cardboards with a backing board. The two cardboards have a nominally greater size than the book whilst the backing board is of the same height. The components are glued to a supple sheet with a slight gap maintained between the cardboards and the backing board, the resulting cover then being overlaid by coloured photocopies of the original cover. The photocopies are glued to the newly made carcass and maintain both the identity and character of the original book. Quotations of reviews may be mounted on the exterior surfaces of the new covers and may be incorporated on separate demountable cards.
