Abstract

The continuous dryer consists of a cylindrical drum (1) fitted with outside collars (2) acting as bearing surfaces. The product is admitted through the end opening (E) and discharged at the opposite end (s). The cylinder is divided into a number of compartments by the walls (6) with through passages to allow the product and the hot drying gas to circulate along the length of the dryer. The dryer rotates on the bearing surfaces allowing the product to tumble inside the cylinder which is fitted with cross paddles.
