Abstract

The heat recuperator for an open fireplace consists of a sheet metal structure forming a horizontal duct (2) at low level, connected to a vertical duct (c) behind the fire, terminating in a distributor at the top. This distributor consists of two chambers (3) mounted each side of the vertical duct, sloping at an angle to the vertical, and discharging through an outlet (4) each side. Each chamber incorporates heat exchanger strips, made of e.g. copper.
