The ankle strengthener for soft ski shoes, prevents the ankle from swivelling to the right and left during downhill skiing and also fixes the back of the boot to the ski. The shoes consist of two bars joined to the ski at the bottom and to the boot or to the skier's legs at the top. A hinge has an axle extending crosswise to the ski, and joins the ski and the bar, and the top and bottom parts of the bars. The bars are held against the skier's leg or against the top of his boot by a belt or by grooves into which they fit.
