Abstract

The machine for preparing the soil for planting saplings is a vehicle with rotary soil working implements (5) immediately behind the front wheels (6). These implements consist of a tined wheel (10) followed by a disc (11) for cutting a furrow (A). This furrow is in line with the rear wheels (7) so that an additional compacting tool is not required. If necessary, the implements can be shifted sideways, out of the wheel tracks (B). In an alternative system, the rear disc which completes the furrow, is shifted sideways while the tined wheel in front moves soil sideways, but remains in line with the wheels. Thus, the wheels do not travel inside the furrow.
