Abstract

The mechanism has a chain conveyor (1) which carries a number of scoops (3) evenly spaced along the length. Each of the scoops has a support (2) with a connecting piece (21) joining the scoops to the chain links (11). The mechanism operates near the base of the stack (7) and discharges into the hopper (5). The scoops extend outwards at right angles to the direction of motion to increase the effective width of the mechanism.
