Abstract

The catamaran has twin hulls (1 and 2) with curved inner sides, the hulls being joined together with a rigid deck (3) to which the mast (6) is attached via an articulated pivot (7). Posn. of the sail (8) is altered by moving the double boom (9) in any direction. Shock absorbing links are attached to the junction of mast and booms and are fixed at their lowest points to the deck. The design simplifies boat construction, makes manoevering faster and easier, thereby reducing user fatigue, and gives improved stability with increased speed.
