Abstract

The swathe hold-down design is intended to prevent clogging of the harvester intake, caused by crops forming swathes of different height and width. The hold-down facilitates an adaptation to such conditions by application of suitable pressure on the swathes. thus safeguarding faultless functioning. At the level of the upper edge of the reception drum rake strips, is mounted a shaft which carries softly resilient, holding-down tines with a high lateral stability. At the shaft the tine ends are downwards inclined at an angle of 30 deg.. This is followed by an upwards curved section and a final upwards inclined section.
