Abstract
The disc brake has internal and external friction faces on the rotary disc, inside which is a fixed bracket with two brake support arms spaced apart in the peripheral direction. These extend axially over the periphery of the disc and form an opening between them. Shoes slide axially on the arms, and a floating calliper has inside and outside shanks fitting round disc and shoes. The inner shank has a brake operating mechanism and the shanks are joined by an axial rib between the arms. A spring clip between each shoe and the arms secures the shoes in the plane of the disc. The clip (60) has a hook-shaped portion (63) bearing against the underside of the rib (40) of the calliper (10). Axial sections (61, 62) extend from the hook-shaped portion on inside and outside along the supporting surfaces of the arms, between these surfaces (30L) and the shoes. They are pre-loaded by the hook-shaped portion, and bear against the shoes, which they press against the surfaces.
