Abstract

The mounting arrangement is for electrical and electronic units generally on a shallow 'U' shaped rail (11) which has the top section of the vertical components bent outward to form short horizontal wings (14) which directly take the weight of the unit. The equipment is mounted between side plates (10) which have their lower edgescut-away into a shallow slot with an inward pointing edge which hooks under one wing of the rail. This mating edge is cut at such an angle that pivoting the side plate around the second wing allows the equipment to be lifted clear of the rail when it is moved a short distance across the rail width. The side plate is held and released by a finger operated lever (16) hooking under the second rail wing and acting against a helical spring (35).
