Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire du diméthylformamide. On fait réagir un mélange de monométhylamine et/ou de monométhylformamide et de triméthylamine, ou un tel mélange contenant de plus de la diméthylamine avec du monoxyde de carbone en présence de fer métallique ou d'un composé de fer comme catalyseur et d'hydrogène gazeux dans un rapport en volumes de H2 /CO compris entre 0,05 et 3. L'invention s'applique en particulier à a préparation industrielle de diméthylformamide très pur avec un rendement important et une sélectivité élevée.
