Abstract

The machine has opposed pairs of motorized redressing rollers. Each pair acts on one bearing zone of a shaft, those pairs on the same side of the workepiece being amounted on common carriages. Each carriage can be displaced in directions perpendicular to the workpice, at least one roller on one or other carriage being driven by a motor. Friction from the driven roller effects workpiece rotation as the carriages converge, and the rollers in each pair have axles which align with perpendicular workpiece generatrices.
