Abstract

The plug and socket connector is for joining optical fibres. The two halves of the connecting block are designed so as to produce automatic centering which will reduce transmission losses. The connector is of the multiway type. Each half (3, 3a) of the connector is made with two parallel rods (1e of the same dia. The groove(2) between each pair of rods is V-shaped. The light conductor fibres(40) are placed between the grooves and the two sections linked in a clamping block(4), containing a diamond section aperture, composed of two V-shapes.
