Abstract

L'invention est relative à un procédé en deux étapes pour préparer un téréphtalate de polyéthylène de poids moléculaire élevé. Dans le second stade, on ajoute au produit de précondensation obtenu dans la première étape une association de sels de germanium-(IV) et de titane-(IV), en tant que catalyseurs, puis après avoir augmenté la température, polycondense en abaissant continuellement la pression au-dessous de 0,5 millibar. La téréphtalate de polyéthylène incolore obtenu résiste à l'hydrolyse à l'eau chaude en conservant ses autres bonnes propriétés.
