Abstract

The cap has a bottom(2) and skirt(1) whose internal face is provided with a rim which engages under a collar on the neck of a container to retain the cap on the container. The cap may retain a seal over the opening in the neck of the container. Part of the skirt is severed except bridges (8, 9) so as to provide a tongue(4). After breaking the bridges the tongue is folded down pivoting about the lower rim(7) allowing removal of the cap. The elasticity of the cap material returns the tongue to its initial position.
