Abstract
A wire guide device provides bobbins with wire helices which are not contiguous, and wound at a constant spacing or pitch. It comprises a moving element inserted during winding between the last helix wound and the portion of wire about to make contact with the mandrel of the bobbin. The pitch of winding is decided by the bulk of the moving element. Bobbins with non-contiguous spirals of wire are used as tertiary windings for very high tension transformers for television receivers. The pitch of the winding is kept constant by the use of the wire guide element of the invention, which rests on the last wound spiral and uses its bulk to provide the required distance between the spirals.
