Abstract
The heater may be used for heating ultra pure fluids and as a radiation heater for drying photoresist layers, etc. The thin-film heater consists of a high-ohmic primary heating film (2) deposited on a substrate (1). A secondary heating film (3) having a low resistance is formed on the primary heating film. The secondary film has a thickness b given by b(0.5-10) = a, where a is the thickness of the primary heating film. When the heating voltage is first applied, the greater part of the current flows through the low resistance film. As the temp. rises, the resistance of the primary film decreases and gradually draws more of the heating current from the low-resistance film.
