Abstract

The lens cover for the vehicle signal lamp has a perforated metal (4) support screen over which is modulated a transparent plastic film (8) to fill the holes. The plastic is moulded into a pattern of small lenses over each hole so that a directional light output is achieved. The metal provides support for the moulding, which is an economic process. The plastic is coloured to fit the particular type of function the lamp is designed for.
