Abstract

The ladder consists of a number of sections including one bottom section and at least one additional section. Each of the sections comprises a pair of uprights and at least two rungs the uppermost one of which is fixedly mounted in the uprights. Each of the uprights are telescopically slideable into the adjoining lower upright. The uprights of the additional sections are provided with longitudinal guideways in which end portions of the rungs of the section are displaceable along the uprights. Stops define a lower terminal position for the end portions of the rungs in the guideways. Releasable devices hold each of the sections in an extended position with respect to an adjoining section.
