Abstract

The optical fibre alignment mechanism's centring part has a bore designed to receive the optical fibre. An aligning part is used to align the bore in the predetermined axis. A clamping part applies a uniform compressive force on the centring part. This is done so that the deformable material is shaped around the optical fibre and keeps it aligned along the predetermined axis. The centring part may be made of an elastic material flowable in the cold state. The aligning part may belong to the centring part.
