Abstract

The seal is arranged between flanges, which are formed by non-machined edges (1, 2), of a sheet-metal housing. In each case one elastic sealing device (3, 4) is bonded onto the edges (1, 2), between which a hard and relatively narrow profile (5) is inserted. This profile (5) deforms the elastic sealing devices (3, 4) and results in the sheet-metal housing being sealed.
