Abstract

La présente invention concerne un mécanisme de direction assistée pour véhicules automobiles. Ledit mécanisme comporte des accouplements à mâchoire et à tambour, dont les mâchoires sont fixées par paires par une extrémité à un support solidaire de l'arbre d'entrée et par leur autre extrémité à un support solidaire de l'arbre de sortie, lesdites mâchoires d'accouplement étant disposées de façon qu'une paire de mâchoires s'écarte dans chaque sens de rotation des deux supports, tandis que l'autre paire de mâchoires s'éloigne simultanement du tambour d'accouplement respectif. Application aux directions assistées de véhicules automobiles.
