Abstract

With a conventional drive in which a grinding wheel is rotated about its centreline the grinding often generates a series of concentric grooves on a surface. The fixture is used to prevent this, it consists of a housing (1) which can be mounted with a threaded bore (4) on the drive spindle (5) of a tool. The housing contains a spindle (14) which is mounted on ball bearings (10). The grinding wheel can be mounted on this spindle. The centreline of this spindle is off-set from the centreline of the tool spindle.
