Abstract

Procédé de production d'esters éthyliques d'acides carboxyliques aliphatiques consistant à faire réagir l'éthylène avec l'acide en phase liquide en présence d'un catalyseur acide. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce que l'on emploie comme catalyseur acide un hétéropoly-acide du tungstène ou un sel de métal acide de celui-ci, et on effectue la réaction en présence d'eau dans une proportion pouvant s'élever jusqu'à 7,5 % du poids de l'acide carboxylique aliphatique. Il donne des degrés de sélectivité élevés à l'égard de l'ester cherché et de hauts rendements en esters, et il est applicable notamment à la fabrication de l'acétate d'éthyle.
