Abstract

Les rayons lumineux en provenance d'un objet arrière pénètrent par la fenêtre 6 et sont réfléchis successivement par les surfaces 2 et 5 avant de pénétrer dans l'oculaire 8. Les rayons lumineux en provenance d'un objet avant pénètrent par la fenêtre 7 et traversent la surface semi-réfléchissante 5 pour pénétrer dans l'oculaire de visée 8. L'observateur fait donc coincider l'image d'un objet situé vers l'avant avec l'image d'un objet situé vers l'arrière. Il est ainsi possible en navigation maritime de maintenir le navire sur un alignement matérialisé par un amer placé en avant du navire et un amer placé en arrière du navire.
