Abstract

The draw conduit tube, e.g. for telecommunications cables, is made from corrugated plastics material. Several tubes may run within a smooth walled or corrugated cable conduit. The corrugated form of the tube (1) is such that the radius of the corrugation ridges is smaller than that of the troughs, the typical ratio being 1:2. This dimensioning assists in giving a good and secure fit for a sealing ring (4) which seals the conduit against the bore of the jointing sleeve used for coupling conduit sections together. The transition between the two radii is pref. practically radial at one point. This assists in giving a good location for the projecting teeth in the coupling sleeve bore which serve to hold the coupling sleeve in position and the conduit sections together.
