Abstract

Stator of a rotor is fitted with a multi-pronged sheath and then enclosed in a heated mould to be impregnated with a liq. potting resin injected under pressure. The sleeve provides a longitudinal surface with sufficient clearance to establish a robust, sealed bridge of resin between the thicker castings at each end of the stator. Esp. suitable for protecting the stators of submerged motors for pumps moving corrosive or abrasive fluids.
