Abstract

The safety release binding for a ski comprises a front stop, fixed in position and mounted on a spring loaded pivot. It has two side pieces forming a vee to locate the boot sole, and a finger clamps on top. This stop lifts upwards to provide initial clearance before releasing the boot. The rear stop is mounted on a slide and is adjusted into position after locating the boot against the front stop. On lowering the ski boot, the pressure causes a lock to be applied to hold the stop.
