Abstract

Glass tube has its inside surface lined with a mat of capillary threads of a heat absorbing material. The capillaries are impregnated with a fluid having a suitable boiling point. One end of the tube forms the evaporator and is enclosed in an outer glass tube which is within the collector. This is exposed to solar radiation. The lower part of the outer tube has a reflective lining on the inside. The other end of the inner tube is outside the collector, not exposed to radiation and forms the condenser.
