Abstract

The air supply to an internal combustion engine flows in through filter and carburettor. For a correct air to fuel ratio under all operating conditions an auxiliary supply is taken from the filter to a valve to the downstream side of the carburettor. The valve has a piston which can slide axially as well as rotate in order to control the air flow. The opening of the valve can be controlled either by throttle lever or independently by an electro-magnetic valve which is in turn controlled by any chosen engine operational parameter.
