Abstract

The automobile accessory to undo wheel nuts has a crown wheel (2) and pinion (7) demultiplication mechanism with a collapsible radial counter-strut (9). The unit contains a freely rotatable internally toothed crown wheel (2, 7) with an enmeshining pinion (1). A hexagonal socket projects axially from both the wheel (7) and the pinion (1) and on opposite sides of the housing. The tool is used with the wheel socket (5) engaging a nut, a spanner engaging the pinion socket (4), and the strut (9) contacting the ground to resist rotation of the housing (6). The unit can rotate in either direction by reversing the strut (9), and may be used on any nut or bolt.
