Abstract

The ramp is fitted into the side of a quay and has a support frame (3) with a vertical member including a hinge (9) at the top. The hinge holds the ramp platform (1) in place. The platform has a flap (2) hinged to the opposite end of the ramp platform by the double hinge (13). The flap is positioned by means of a ram (37) placed under the platform, and is able to rest on the lorry floor. The ramp is raised or lowered by means of jacks mounted under the ramp.
