Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement des effluents nitriques dilués des usines de fabrication d'acide nitrique ou des usines utilisant cet acide en particulier en hydrométallurgie, par exemple les usines où l'on traite les minerais d'uranium ou leurs concentrés uranifères. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à effectuer une extraction liquide-liquide sur l'effluent à traiter, préalablement acidifié, au moyen d'un agent d'extraction constitué par l'association d'un ester phosphorique neutre et d'au moins une amine à longue chaîne, puis à traiter le solvant chargé de façon à récupérer du nitrate d'ammonium exempt d'ions sulfate Ce nitrate d'ammonium peut être utilisé tel quel comme engrais ou traité, de façon connue en soi, pour donner de l'acide nitrique directement utilisable. Le procédé de l'invention résoud les problèmes de pollution posés par les effluents nitriques dilués tout en conduisant à des produits valorisables.
