Abstract

The insert is used for packing two layers of bottles into a case and is made from cardboard, folded to form a base (2) and sidewalls (3). These are angled outwards, an inwards step (4) being provided between the layers. Their top edges also have inwards flanges (4). Each wall is pierced, at both levels, to provide alternate locations for holding the neck and base of the bottles. The larger base openings (5) are divided longitudinally to give a retaining flap (8) and provide a liner (9) between the two layers. The smaller openings (6) provide neck retaining flaps.
