Abstract

La présente invention concerne la production d'hydrogène par réaction du mono-oxyde de carbone avec la vapeur d'eau. On utilise un catalyseur à base de cuivre que l'on place en deux zones, le catalyseur de la zone d'entrée étant plus accessible au gaz que le catalyseur de la zone de sortie; de préférence les fragments de catalyseur de la zone d'entrée ont la même forme, mais des dimensions plus petites, que le catalyseur de la zone de sortie. La figure 1 représente les constantes de débit horaire en fonction de l'inverse de la température absolue. Le procédé de l'invention est notamment utilisable pour la synthèse de l'ammoniac.
