Abstract

The carburettor has a throttle and a main fuel inlet controlled by two solenoid valves. The slow running jet is controlled by a third solenoid valve. further solenoid valves (EV3, EV5) control pneumatic feedback connections from various points in the suction manifold. The solenoid valves are energised by a computing network with inputs from the engine electric circuit, ignition switch, tachometer, a thermostat and an exhaust gas oxygen analyser. There are also inputs from the pneumatic feedbacks. The computer stores running parameter information during normal warm running, which is used to regulate the pneumatic controls when the electric control runs on open loop at low temp. conditions.
