Abstract

The device consists of a cylinder with a closed mantle supported by arms extending from the front of a boat. The surface of teh cylinder is covered with a plastic material having a dense pile proof against petrol and capable of absorbing oil. Behind the cylinder, a doctor blade held under some tension transfers the oil into a trough from which it is pumped into tanks on the boat.
