Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé d'oxydation du butane en acide acétique. Pour oxyder le butane en acide acétique, on met du butane normal en contact avec une concentration suffisante d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène en présence d'un catalyseur constitué essentiellement de brome et de cobalt pour amorcer une réaction exothermique auto-entretenue; l'invention permet également de produire ensemble de l'acide acétique et des acétates de glycol en C2 ou C 3 . L'invention s'applique en particulier à la production industrielle d'acide acetique avec des rendements élevés et peu de sous-produits gênants.The invention relates to a process for the oxidation of butane to acetic acid.
