Abstract

The prefabricated seating (1) for chimney stacks is placed on the roof and consists of a base whose underneath surface is on the same plane as the surface of the roof (7). The periphery of the base enables the seating to be fitted into the roof tiles. The central part of the base is approx. flat and has a wide opening (2). A projecting rim (4) around the opening (2) tilts slightly inwards. A flat ledge (5, 8) goes around the rim (4) and is several centimetres wide on one side of the rim (4), so that the stack (9) can rest on it when the roof is at any gradient. The flat ledge (5) is raised above the level of the rainwater level down the roof. The seating (1) can be of moulded cast iron. The chimney stack (9) is placed on the seating (1) and incorporates a number of ducts.
