Abstract
Alcohol circulates through a solar radiation energy collector in which it is heated. It enters one end of a central cylinder and the expansion due to the heat it has received moves the piston in the cylinder. At the end of the stroke the piston reverses the valve at the ends of the cylinder to admit alcohol to the other end of the cylinder and release it from the first. The expanded alcohol flows through a cooler and returns to the heater. The working piston is connected to pistons in two other cylinders which compress air. The compressed air is stored in a reservoir and taken from it to an air turbine which drives an electrical generator.
